Taking care of our planet
Environmental responsibility is taken very seriously at iWood, inc.
We recognise that our operations have an effect on the local, regional and global environment within which we live and work, and that management and mitigation of these impacts is necessary for sustainable growth.
Sustainable waste management
iWood, inc. is committed to continual improvements in reducing its impact on the environment by managing its waste in a sustainable manner.
Landfill is a major source of methane, a powerful greenhouse gas contributing to climate change. Methane is produced when biodegradable materials such as paper, food and green wastes, decompose in the absence of oxygen. Putting waste into landfill is not environmentally or financially sustainable, like society, understands we need to do more with less. It is important to make better use of resources, putting materials to better use and thereby reducing our impact on the environment.
The key points of our waste strategy are:
General waste
We are committed to minimising waste as well as have a duty of care to dispose of all waste through safe and responsible methods to ensure our environment is protected and to ensure valuable resources are managed.
We encourage the minimisation of packaging and packaging waste, increase reuse and increase the recovery of packaging waste.
Promote recycling both internally and amongst its customers and suppliers and recognises the responsibility to recycle materials, wherever possible.
Supply chain
Work with suppliers to ensure that they recognise and reduce the environmental impact of their products and its subsequent transportation.
